Fabulous K for the Home Depot

When I start thinking about holiday decor, two things come to mind: sparkle and a pop of color. I love to use unexpected color to add a modern twist to classic elements like a wreath and garland.

This year, I'm using a palette of turquoise, silver and white; pairing Martha Stewart Living ornaments with a collection of mercury glass bottles, vases and votive candles.

One of my holiday decorating tricks is to mix and match textures and finishes. I've used a variety of matte, glitter, shiny, and patterned ornaments to create interest, and added faux fur to quilted velvet stockings I found at the Home Depot.

I also love adding candlelight whenever possible; it's the perfect addition to holiday lights. The mercury glass votives reflect and enhance the light on the wreath and garland, creating a warm cozy glow for cold winter nights.
