What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!

Happy Monday-- hope this finds everyone relaxed and rested up and ready for a great week! My weekend was great-- Friday night I took my sister and some of her friends out to celebrate her b'day (talk about a week long celebration!) It was really fun and I got to see a lot of people I have not seen since I moved back to Dallas. (Side note: for those of you who did not know, I am from Dallas, moved to Kansas City for 2 years and then moved back to Dallas in April). I am still making the rounds and seeing friends I have not seen in forever! It's great--I love re-connecting with all the fabulous people I know. (another sidenote-- SHAUNA, we need to get together for lunch or something soon!) Any way... Saturday I went shopping and got so many awesome deals! Can I just say... I HEART MACYS! Here is a run down of all the things I got:

**6 shirts ($84)
**1 dress ($14)
**2 pairs of shoes ($65)
**1 skirt ($14)
**5 pairs of trendy, fun earrings ($20)

That's 15 things for about 200 bucks!! Can you say GOOD deal?! It's funny but I always feel a little more productive when I am wearing new clothes. It's like all the sudden I am having the best hair and makeup day...all because I have a cute new outfit on!?? Does anyone else experience this? Since it's the case with me then I should be extra productive this week 'cause I have enough new clothes to last the entire work week!! :) Again.. I heart Macys!!

Sunday was a great day too.. hung out with the fam and, of course, my Dad! But I have to say that there was one particular highlight of the weekend. Let me re-create the scene for you:

ME: So, what's the plan for 4th of July?
DAD: We should go somewhere!
MOM: Oooh...I would love to go to Vegas.
ME: I can take off for that! Let's do it.. YAY YAY YAY!
MOM: I don't think Col (my brother who just started a new job) can get off.
DAD: Well, he can stay & watch the dogs.
MOM: No, that's not fair.. he loves Vegas.
ME: That sucks. WAIT! Why don't we do a girls trip for your b'day? (my mom's b'day is on July 6th). We can go W, Th & Friday and then Col and Dad can go do some kind of 'guy' thing for the weekend. That was Col is not left out, the dogs are taken care of and we still get to go to Vegas. PLUS-- girls only would be way more fun. (We can shop AND gamble all we want!)
DAD: That's fine with me.. (to my mom) it can be your b'day present!
MOM, ERIN (Sister) and I: YEAH!! YAY YAY YAY!

So... I am going to Vegas!! It is my most favorite place. I love it-- I love the energy, the excitement, the lights and the way people just completely let go when they are there. We get to Vegas on the 4th @ 2pm and come back at 10pm on the 6th. 3 days and 2 nights...perfect! And, I will have Saturday and Sunday to recover and get back on Central time. I can't even tell you how excited I am. I am in need of a vacay! WHOO HOO! I am so excited =)
