A day in the life of 2 pups

Meet Izzy & Rudy.
Izzy is my dog and Rudy is my parent's dog & her (twin) brother.

My parents have 3 dogs that live with them...

Bella, a 5 pound chihuahua dachshund mix and Izzy (my dog) and Rudy, who are 35 & 45 pound mini Australian Shepherds. Izzy lives with my parents because she and Rudy are brother and sister and BEST friends (they seriously love each other and never leave each other's side) and I live in an apartment while my parents have house with a huge backyard & pool that they love to play in. It's just a better environment for Izz to be in. Anyway...

Yesterday my Greek Grandmother came over to my parent's house to help my mom make trigana, a Greek appetizer, for the baby shower. My mom put Izzy & Rudy in the backyard and closed the doggie door just to get them out of the way for a bit. A little while later she noticed that they were not making any noise (it's kind of like when kids are quiet...you just know they are up to no good!) She decided to go check on them and they were gone. Vanished! No where to be seen!! She looked all around and there were no holes dug under the fence. Now, in my parents backyard they have a really tall wooden fence and then the door/gate is black rod iron. Bella, the 5 pound dog, could easily get through the gate but Izzy & Rudy are WAY too big...

Or so we thought.

My mother and Grandmother got in the car looking for the pups--calling their names, etc. NOTHING. They decided to go home after a while...both dogs are micro chipped and also have collars with their names and my parents number embroidered on them along with their tags with the vet's number. When they got home my mom left the back door open and about 10 minutes later she heard something scratching the gate and some crying...

It was IZZY & RUDY and THEY CAME BACK!!

She said that they were standing there panting and were too tired to even try to squeeze back in. They went right into the house (with VERY filthy paws from all of that exploring!), drank LOTS of water and slept for hours. I guess their little joy-ride wore them out. I have no doubt that my sweet little Izzy was the ring leader of all of that (she's the mischevious one) but I am so thankful that they did not get hurt. Needless to say, the gate is now completely blocked off and my parents are keeping a close eye on those 2 mischievous pups. Thank God they are OK. I think they must really love us and their home as much as we love them because they came home!

Nothing like home sweet home, huh puppies? :)
