I have a really good recipe for a BLT sandwich that I thought I'd share with you. It's from a restaurant in KC called "The Peanut", and I kid you not, they make THE BEST BLTs is the world. So, I decided to re-create the recipe at home... and it was just as good!
Here's what you'll need:
Wheat bread
Shredded cheddar cheese
Bacon
Lettuce (romaine is the best)
Tomato
Mayo
Red onions
Dice the tomatoes and onions; wash lettuce then set all aside
Fry bacon and toast 2 slices of wheat bread
Once bacon is finished, spread mayo on one slice then place warm bacon on top. Then, place the shredded cheese on top of bacon while still warm (this will let the cheese start to melt..YUM!). Top cheese with diced tomatoes and red onions, then lettuce and top with other slice of toasted wheat.
It's not the healthiest...but it's not bad if you use turkey bacon. It is YUMMY though. The cheese and onions are the trick! ENJOY!
On another note... I can't wait for fall. Not because it feels about 110 degrees outside but because some of my favorite things happen in fall:
- Football Starts!! GO COWBOYS! GO TEXAS TECH!!
- Halloween is right around the corner, and it's my favorite!
- It's easier to find cute work clothes in the fall than in the summer
- You can layer your clothes (which means I can wear my favorite...my denim jacket!)
- You can start decorating with pumpkins
- You can go back outside 'cause it's not as hot
Additional reasons I am excited for fall...
- I have 2 really good friends getting married (I ♥ weddings). One in Sept. and one in Oct. (I am even more excited because I already have a really cute date for both!)
- The "J" family is coming to visit us in October. They are really good friends of ours from KC. I am so excited!
So...I can't wait for fall!!
I can't believe it's Thursday already. That's a GREAT thing. My aunt and uncle are coming down to visit this weekend, which means we will have lots of great family time and so lots of fun "girls only" shopping while the boys play golf. It should be fun!
OH!! I just realized I have not commented on "The Hills"!! All I can say is 'WTF???'
Spencer and Heidi are C-R-A-Z-Y! Is it just me or does anyone else think it is weird that when Spencer proposed to Heidi he did not actually say "Will You Marry Me?" He just said "I want to spend the rest of my life with you; I got you this" and she said "I love you so much". Weird. I would be all, "Um, no, you need to go back and get me a real diamond, not some purple thing, and you need to get on your knee and ASK!!". Also, why did no one tell me is was cool to have "Hollywood" graffiti on the wall of your living room? I mean, if Spencer says it's cool it must be...right? Um, no. Now onto Lauren... is she a possessive roommate or what?!! She was all weird about Audrina going out on a date. Not that I like the guy, he's an idiot, but still. Chill out LC! Either way... I love that show and will look forward to it every Monday!!
