Big News!!

A least it a big deal to me...

Yesterday I started....

(DRUMROLL PLEASE!!)

Whoo hoo!

I know in a previous post, when I talked about losing weight, I mentioned that I was going to go back to Weight Watchers. I thought a lot about it and really evaluated why I gave up on WW before (even though it was working in the beginning) and I realized a couple of things...

1). I was still eating "crap"...I just assigned it a points value.
2). Finding out, counting and keeping track of said points value was a pain in the ass.
3). 30 minute meetings talking about food point values suck.
4). Who wants to weigh and measure EVERYTHING?!! Not me!
5). I end up eating the same 10 things cause I know the points and serving sizes and that's just plain boring!

I do think WW is a GREAT program. I just don't have the time and patience for all of that. That's why I love JC. Everything is ready and waiting in it's pretty package for me. I love that. And I love the fact that I will gradually learn to incorporate non-jenny foods in, and that I am now a lifetime member of JC, so I can go buy Jenny food (instead of say a Lean Cuisine) or go weigh once a month to make sure I am not falling into old habits. That's all after I reach goal though. But, that was important to me, the after, because I don't want to work to lose the weight and then get to the point where I gain it all back. This has to be a LIFE change. Not a quick fix. And after all my thinking, JC was the best for ME. Here are somethings I love about JC:

1). My consultant has been (and is currently on the program) and she's about my age.
2). They took "before" pictures (I have a feeling I will want those one day!)
3). They took measurements. (That counts, too, ya know!!)
4). The food is G-O-O-D! Seriously, it is.

I know I am only on day 2, but it's been going so well. I have not been hungry. I feel empowered by knowing what I am putting in my body is good for me. And you know what...I have not been tired at all this week. I think it's the lack of heavy carbs and sugar. I basically eat jenny foods, my own fruits & veggies and drink lots of water. Here is my 'menu' yesterday to give you and idea:

B'FAST
Jenny Stuffed Breakfast Sandwich
1/2 a grapefruit w/ splenda
Skim Milk

SNACK
Pear & Jenny Peanut Butter Bar

LUNCH
Spinach & Cheese Tortellini
Large salad w/ Jenny dressing

SNACK
Jenny popcorn & low fat cheese

DINNER
Veggie & Chicken Potstickers & Unlimited broccoli w/ Parmesan cheese & margarine

SNACK
Strawberries w/ light cool whip & yogurt

SNACK
Chocolate Graham Cracker Twists w/ Skim Milk

And it was all REALLY good!!

It's so funny that when you have control over one part of your life, you feel more in control of everything else as well. I have been WAY more productive at work. Seriously, WAAAAY more. AND I am not tired OR hungry. I would constantly snack before and was ALWAYS tired. I know it's only been a few days but I just feel better and more confident about myself knowing I am doing something to get in shape. Oh, and another thing...they gave me a pedometer. I always thought they were kind of cheesy...but you know what...I love it!! Did you know that 2,000 steps = 1 mile? I didn't. My pedometer tells steps AND calories and I am eating 1,500 calories a day so now I know exactly when the fat burning begins!! LOVE THAT!!

Any way...my goal right now is to lose 47 pounds. I actually need to lose a bit more but I wanted an attainable goal to focus on 1st. When I get there, then I will set another. I am feeling so good about this. My 30th b'day is next year and I have made a promise to myself that 30 will be my skinniest and healthiest year yet. I know that with my family and friends support and all my blogger girl's encouragement I CAN do this! I will keep you all posted on all the trial and tribulations...until then, I am anxiously awaiting my 1st weigh in on Saturday!

One more thing...I want to send a few shout outs...

1). To my "bloggin' mama-to-be" blog friend, Laura...HAPPY "belated"
BIRTHDAY!
2). To the local Dallas "blogettes" who went to Shauna's...sorry I missed it~I promise to be there next time!
3). To Shauna~ I am so proud of you. You are following your heart and doing what is best for your precious family. I applaud you and hope to have as much courage as your do in your new endeavor in mine. You are starting a new life at home & I am starting a new life of health. We ROCK! Go US! YAY!

Love all ya'll!! :)

Yaaay for you Kel. JC is a great program and their counselors really are helpful and not judgemental. I did it after baby #1 and it really helped. My best friend also did it last year and looks fabulous! Her biggest struggle, I think was working alcohol into the plan, but like everything...moderation and forgiveness of yourself are key.

I am sooo proud of you! and excited too! Have a great week! XOXO

KC--Thanks 4 the encouragement. You have no idea how much that helps!! I have had the same thought about the whole alcohol thing and have decided to give it up until I reach pound 47...then I will have a cocktail! I am not a big drinker so it's not that big of a deal...It just means I will have to socialize with my girls by shopping instead of drinking. Guess my wallet will be lighter, too! :P
