Happy Friday!

Long time, no blog! All is well here. I am still going strong on my week 2 of JC. I go weigh tomorrow...and am nervous, of course! I had a couple obstacles this week...here's the run down:

Sunday, one of my best friends, Elizabeth, had a celebration at her parent's house because her baby girl, Tatum, was dedicated at church that day. They had a BBQ catered lunch and I did partake...although I tried to keep it in check. JC encourages you to do meals on your own so that you do not feel like you are being deprived. I know it was ok to have BBQ but I still felt super guilty...

Also, last night I went to a party & dinner with my best friends, Sue and Crystal. I had a salad that had avocado and blue cheese in it. Yikes. 2 splurges in one week = not good! Hope the scales doesn't show that avocado!! Luckily, I don't have anything major coming up until Mid October, so I can be 100% JC over the next month or so. One positive from this week is that I started waling on the treadmill. I did 30 mins each time, which is pretty much unheard of for me. ( I am not a big exerciser!) One of the days I walked I wore my pedometer and walked over 15,000 steps! 2,000 steps = 1 mile, so that was over 7 miles! WOW! It really showed me how even that 30 minutes of walking can make an impact. I skipped last night b/c of the party, so I will be on the treadmill tonight and tomorrow morning to make up for it.

Now...non-JC related stuff. My sis has a friend is town this weekend from KC that is staying with us, so I should have some fun stories and pics from this weekend. I am also feeling really creative right now so I plan on completing some crafty projects and will post pictures soon. Sunday my dad (who does photography for fun and happens to be AWESOME at it) is taking pics of my friend's friend, Codie's belly...she's having a baby in OCT. I bet they will be amazing...I will post a few of those too.

In the meantime...I have some awesome news! My cousin, Jonathan, has finally returned to the U.S. after being over in IRAQ for the last 9 months. He is a Marine and I am so very proud of him and so thankful he is back where he belongs! He has a sweet wife and precious baby girl, who will turn one this month. He has been away from her for most of her life!! I can't imagine how hard that has been for all of them. Taylor was not even too sure who he was when he got here but she quickly warmed up to her Daddy. Please say a prayer for all of our men and women in uniform and say a prayer that the next place he goes is safer. God Bless you Jonathan, and God Bless America!!

Beth & Taylor by the sign for Jonathan, welcoming him home!

Enjoying some well-deserved relaxation & family time on the beach...Is that not the sweetest picture?!!

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend! Please say a little prayer for me that the scale is happy tomorrow. Love you all!

BTW...I have been changing my blog design a lot lately...sorry! I told u I have been itching to be creative lately :)
