Weekend projects & other stuff

Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend! Mine was good...got a lot done, and lost another 2 pounds @ JC! Whew! After the 2 events I had last week, I was worried. I guess my days spent on the treadmill paid off! :)

I thought I would share some of the projects I did over the weekend. I have been trying to decide (as you know from past blogs!) what to do in my bedroom. The style of my house if pretty clean, modern and colorful...but I love the whole vintage, shabby chic, worn, antique-y (yeah, I just made that word up) look, too, which really does not mesh together all that well. So...I have decided to have the best of both worlds and do a 'shabby chic' bedroom! I have looked around for something for over my bed and have had no luck, so I decided to make something myself. For about $20, here is what I ended up with (and I absolutely LOVE them, by the way!!)

I also made a set for my sister. Her bedroom is black and white w/ pink.

Here's another cool accent to my 'shabby chic' look: white milkglass plates w/ chocolate ribbon. Milkglass is something I started collecting about a year ago. I have several pieces including a few family heirloom pieces from my grandmother and aunt. The thing I love about milkglass is it's ability to be vintage or modern, which means you will find it throughout my place. This weekend my grandmother gave me 2 new pieces for my collection, which I LOVE...TWO MILKGLASS PLATES! They are perfect for my bedroom theme and look great with the ribbon I added to them to hang on the wall! I love having something that had been in my family for generations proudly displayed on my wall. Who knew something that was stored in my grandma's cabinets could be such a fabulous wall accent?!!

On another note...Is it bad that I am so excited all the shows are starting this week?? I am exicted about 'Dancing with the Stars' (tonight--YAY!) and most importantly...GREYS!! Can't wait! I love this time of year. I am also trying to check out some of the new shows and have already found one thats a keeper...It's called 'Gossip Girl' and ooooh, lemme tell ya- if you like 'The Hills' (which is also on tonight--YAY!) then you will LOVE this show. I already have a 'fav' character, Dan. Love it. Like I said...if you are a 'Hills' fan, check it out!

Well, I hope you all have a great Monday! Oh, and one last thing... How 'bout those Cowboys! I ♥ football!

Kelly-
Okay, seriously-- you need to create a blog or youtube with a HOW TO for all your fun crafts.
So please tell us how you made the things over your bed. LOVE IT!!
