I am MUCH less stressed today. On my way home last night I decided I would "pamper" myself a bit so that I could wake up today with a new attitude and a fresh start. And you know what? It worked.

Last night I decided I would skip the gym & JC dinner, make spaghetti (with turkey sausage so it wasn't THAT terrible to eat), take a bubble bath, read some magazines & watch Project Runway. I just needed a little time "away". I did feel guilty about not going to the gym & eating the spaghetti...mainly because December has been a challenging month for me on JC, but I needed the break. I feel like I need to do my best to get through the last few weeks in December by just maintaining my current weight loss and then start the losing again January 2nd. I have been SO out of my routine and it's been stressing me out. Not any more....I am not letting it get to me!

We also got FABULOUS news about my g'pa yesterday!! He {finally} had his appointment with his new 'sarcoma' specialist. My mom said this doctor is an AMAZING man! He spent nearly 2 hours with my g'pa and even went to the pathology labs to view the slides of the tumors himself. Here is what he said:

  • He thinks they can get my g'pa into remission (they will just have to watch him closely because the kind of cancer that he has could easily come back somewhere else).

  • He said the the cancer is not hereditary.

  • The cancer is more than likely a mutation of his genes due to something he was exposed to at some point in his life (probably when he was a teenager or younger)

  • He is back on Chemo but will we off the week of Christmas! YAY!

Most importantly...he is feeling better! Yesterday he ate a meal in a restaurant for the 1st time in a MONTH! And he ate it all...and enjoyed himself. You all have not idea what a HUGE deal this is.

I know all of your prayers are working. God is great! :)

So, I have a lot to be thankful for. I am officially back in the Christmas spirit. I am doing my Christmas shopping this weekend. Oh, and this is my 99th post...which means my next one will be my 100th--I will have to think of something FABULOUS to blog about!

As for now... I leave you with this...

How is it that Christina Aguilera looks better naked and pregnant than most people (including myself) look every day without a human growing inside of them?

Oh yeah, airbrushing.

Happy Thursday!

Hey Kelly-
Have you seen that Dove commerical that shows this relatively "average" looking woman. And then in a furry, they do her makeup, fabulous-up her hair, take her picture, and then airbrush/digitize the heck out of her. It ends with the "And we wonder why we have such a bad self image"-ish statement.
I always wonder what celebs and what not look like in real life. I mean like the whole Jennifer Love Hewitt being "fat". Crazy crazy!
I'm with you- just don't gain any weight over Christmas and that's a big accomplishment in itself.
Good luck! Keep us posted!
