Prayers

Your prayers are needed now more than ever. Yesterday, my grandfather went to see his oncologist to learn the results of his biopsy that they did the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, we did not get the results we wanted. In fact, we got results we did not even begin to think about.

When he was back in the hospital a few weeks ago they thought they saw another tumor on the cat scan, but had hopes that it was either scar tissue or pneumonia instead of more lymphoma (that's the kind of tumor he has been undergoing chemo for). I had prepared myself for another lymphoma diagnosis and figured that he would just be going through chemo some more. Unfortunately, the 2 new tumors are a type of cancer called sarcoma, which is not curable. His chemo did work on the lymphoma, which is now gone, so we are thanking God for that.

At this point, they are trying to make him as comfortable as possible. He is in a lot of pain from the tumors and more than anything, I just want him to be pain free. He now has to go to the big Baylor hospital to see a sarcoma specialist and find out what the plan of action will be. They started him on a pain medicine patch that he will wear from now on, so I am praying that will help.

Please pray that he finds comfort & regains the ability to travel and live life to the fullest again. He and my grandmother are not the type to sit around...in fact, they were supposed to be leaving for a cruise this month. Please pray that he can do those things again.

Please pray for the doctors taking care of him and their wisdom and treatments. Pray that they find the right combination of treatment for him.

Please pray for my grandmother and mom. They are the 2 taking on most of the burden with all of this, as they are the ones going to chemo, drs. appointments, prescription runs. My mom was a nurse for 25 years and is retired. Her strength through all of this is amazing!

I am an emotional wreck today...but I am putting all my belief in the power of prayer because I know it works. I have heard several stories from friends in the last 12 hours of people who live long healthy lives even with a diagnosis like this, and I believe it is thanks to the power of prayer. God Bless Us!

Kelly,
It's so strange that I don't even know you IRL, but I am crying for you. I will add you to our family prayer we say with the boys each night. Hopefully things will all get better, but always know the Lord's will is there. Trust in Him.
Love-
Lins
