So, how is everyone doing on their healthy eating plans this week? I have been doing ok... really good on my water & exercise...ok on the eating. As the title above says...I need some advice from all you fabulous peeps out in blog land!
So, during the day I have no trouble sticking to my JC. I have breakfast, then a snack around 11, lunch around 1 and a snack around 3. I go workout about 5:30 everyday for 30-45 mins {although I am trying to make it up to an hour!} and then I drive home half an hour. Here's where your advice comes in... by the time I get out of the gym I am STARVING. {I think the gym makes me hungrier} So, my question is... do any of you have any ideas for what I can do to curb the hunger til I can get home to eat dinner. What's happening is that I get home and "snack" while I make dinner, but I think if I had a little something when I get out of the gym it will help. The question is... what should it be? I thought about drinking that Special K Protein water... or should I just have an extra piece of fruit? HELP!! I need your ideas! :)
On another note... do any of you watch "October Road"? I think it's my new favorite. It was SO good on Monday night! Katie reminded me that "Greys" is new this week. YAY for that!
I hope you are all having a fabulous week~Happy Hump Day!
Let me know how you are all doing with your health eating and exercising!

Kelly,
Thank you for stalking me! I love it!!
As far as how I'm doing on my eating healthy this week?? Well, I'm sick with a nasty head cold, so nothing sounds good. So, I'd say, okay. :)
FYI, I think the Special K water tastes SO BAD. That's just me.
You should take you a baggie full of nuts or something. That always makes me full after I work out. And, it gives me protein if I'm light headed from my (1 hour) working out sweatiness! :)
Come back to my blog anytime!!!
Molly
I am not sure what you can eat on the JC program but celery with peanut butter is on of my faves. Throw some raisins om top for some extra FABULOUSNESS! I also keep Luna bars in my house all of the time now. They are an easy thing for me to eat while I am holding Payson. I am going to blog about my new "healthy lifestyle" today. Finally you all will be able to hold me accountable...I am so nervous!
Yeah, I agree with Molly on the nuts. Also, the Fiber One bars are good. I like the chocolate one. They're like granola bars. I'm not sure what all works with the Jenny plan, but I'd definitely recommend either of those if they do. If not, I'd do some fruit or something like that.
Now, back to my Lean Cuisine!
I agree with everyone above. :) You can also try eating something right before you work out like a protien bar or shake.
And - I love October Road! Kip thinks I am retarded. I also love One Tree Hill which started back up last night. Kip was ragging on me about and I found myself saying, "But I grew up with these characters..." UH - NO - I didnt!!! I was like 24 when I started watching that show!!!
I think I messed up when I posted a minute ago. What helps me through that super hungry part of the day is either reduced fat Triscuits or Orville Redenbacher Smart Pop popcorn with some pocorn seasoning sprinkled on top. Both of these are high in fiber and when consumed with a big glass of water, help give me a nice "full" feeling that helps me make it to dinnertime. Good luck and hang in there!
I think I messed up too on my first post... anyway, if I'm hungry before or after a workout, I eat a banana. They are super yummy and are loaded with potasium which will ease any muscle soreness from weight lifting. Hope this helps...keep up the GREAT work!
Hey Kelly!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE October Road!!! I started watching it from season one, I think last Spring and fell in love with it then. I hope it stays around for a while! Glad to hear someone else likes it too.
Working out makes me hungry as well. Maybe another snack right before you work out would help?!?!
I too LOVE October Road! I just bought the first season and am trying to catch up! Another one I'm watching and ashamed to admit is Melrose Place! Its GREAT!!! As for the healthy eating, I'm loving reading your blog and seeing the comments, its inspiring me to try to eat healthier myself...something I definately need to do!
I am hypoglycemic so I have to eat small snacks often. I was going to say...nuts or a banana or yogurt or any fruit really or string cheese....I dont' know either what fits in to JC...but that's what I do!
Okay, Kashi TLC Trail mix bars are the BEST! They seem high in calories and stuff, but it is really natural stuff, and will fill you up just right, I think! Also, drink a huge bottle of water after you work out to fill you up!
I'm doing good on the exercise and water, and I WAS good on the eating until today when I ate Mexican food...public enemy #1.
I so loved October Road as well! Have a fabulous night!!
I have been doing pretty good with my eating and exercising but I always get discouraged if I dont see quick results. I am making my self stick to it this time. As far as the after the gym thing...I take a banana. They really fill me up and your don't have to cut them or anything. You can just peel and eat while you drive. I have never tried the Special K Protien Water so I have no opinion there.
I have never watched October Road but since you like it I might have to check it out. I like alot of the same shows you do. I love One Tree Hill. You should check it out.
IM BACK!!! I feel so out of the loop with everyones blogs.
I haven't worked out once in 08 and since we have been gone so much lately eating right has been tough! But I am proud to say the scale has not one up any!!!
Glad you are doing good!!
Maybe you should keep a small stash of almonds in the car? Some diet plans say that this will tide you over pretty well as long as you only eat enough. That is my problem, though. I eat 60 or so, ughhh.
YAY Grey's! In 19 minutes! YAY!
duh. I didn't read what other people suggested...:)
Ok, I didn't read everyone else's comments but what I was going to suggest first is to drink some sort of flavored water like the Special K or Propel. I see you're already on that. I worked out with a personal trainer for over a year (though, you wouldn't know it now!) and things he suggested were things like cheese or some sort of nuts like almonds. Those string cheese sticks are great! The problem with protein bars is that though they are a good source of protein they also can be loaded with calories and if you're not careful you may discover your protein bar may be a meal REPLACEMENT bar! YIKES. So those are my tips. As much as advice as I have you would think I would follow it too! Good grief. I will get on the wagon!
Hey I just discovered your blog, and it's very cute! I hopped on the eat right & exercise train more than a year ago, and for a long time(like 6 months) I saw like zero results, kept going, and suddenly shed all the weight. Have been working out ever since and addicted, the results now are unbelievable. I work out daily,I drink a big cup of coffee with milk(no sugar) to keep me full while I work out, which is for nearly 2 hours, and by the time I'm finished I'm starving. The fastest snack there is that feels like a meal but actually doesn't count(not taking your daily allowance of anything) is instant soup, it's low cal and all you need is hot water and a cup. Nuts are good but once I start eating them I can't stop after eating a few, and that's a lot of calories. Good luck!
